US visas issued to Indians in 2024

According to recent statistical data nu the US mission in India, the US issued more than one million non-immigrant visas to Indians in 2024. This is the second consecutive year after 2023 where US has issued such a record-breaking number of visas to applicants from India.
 

The majority of non-immigrant visas issued in this year consist of US visit visas, facilitating US travel for thousands of Indian tourists and visitors. The US is also planning to implement an H-1B renewal program in 2025 to help foreign workers from India to settle in the US.

Recent reports show that US visit visa applications from India have increased by five times in the last four years. Over two million Indian tourists and visitors migrated to the US for visit purposes in the first 11 months of 2024.

US to introduce H-1B renewal program

Following the successful pilot program introduced by the US State Department in 2024, the embassy is planning to implement a renewal program for US H-1B visas in 2025. This will allow Indian foreign workers in specialty occupations to renew their H-1B visas while being in the US.
