Vizag girl wins “British High Commissioner for a day” challenge

Vempati Sneha Deepthi, a young girl from Vizag, has become British High Commissioner to India for a day.

The British High Commission had organized a competition for women between the ages of 18 to 23 years to mark the International Day of the Girl Child which is celebrated on 11^th October. The winner gets the chance to become the British High Commissioner to India for a day, as quoted by The Times of India.

To participate, competitors had to submit a short video on the topic “What does gender equality mean to you?” on social media. They also needed to tag @UKinIndia in their video.

The winning entry was submitted by the 21-year old Sneha Deepthi.

Sneha will now accompany Andrew Fleming who is the British Deputy High Commissioner for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, on a normal day’s work. She will be attending meetings with senior staff from the British High Commission. She will also be getting involved in a wide range of tasks carried out by the British High Commission.
