Around 80% of Canadian employers have been recruiting foreign immigrants to fill in the unoccupied jobs which have been vacant for months. 40% of businesses in Canada are facing severe shortages in the workforce.

 

The job vacancy rate in Canada has reached 5.7% during the end of the first six months of 2022 across all sectors. Canada has 1.5 million job vacancies as of October for both part-time and full-time.

 

Most Canadian employers are more interested in employing immigrants as they could not find enough Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents to occupy the vacant jobs.

Aeronautical Engineers, NOC Code (TEER code)

Aeronautical engineers or Aerospace engineers do research, design, and develop aerospace-related vehicles, systems, and related components, and perform duties that are related to their evaluation, installation, maintenance, operation, and testing.

 

Aeronautical engineers will get employed by aircraft & spacecraft manufacturers, government organizations, Educational & research institutions, and air transport carriers.

 

Canada upgraded its NOC system by introducing TEER codes for each occupation as NOC 2021. The NOC 2016 code for Aeronautical engineer is 2146. And the NOC 2021 code for the same is 21390. The TEER category for the Aeronautical engineer is 21399.

 

Roles and Responsibilities of an Aeronautical Engineer

  • Outline & develop aerospace systems, vehicles, and components like aircraft, missiles, space-based communication systems, and spacecraft.
  • Develop & conduct computer simulations of aerospace systems, vehicles, and components that operate on advanced mathematical modeling.
  • Prepare specifications for processes & materials to utilize in aerospace maintenance, repair or modification, and manufacturing.
  • Manage & coordinate the manufacturing, modifications, assembly, repair & overhaul of spacecraft and aircraft.
  • Co-ordinate with the ground and flight tests of air & spacecraft
  • Develop maintenance schedules, operational schedules, and operators for the manuals.
  • Develop and prepare technical phases of operational and logistical support for aerospace systems & vehicles.
  • Investigate & report on the structural or any other components or accidents/incidents or system failures and suggest recommendations for necessary action.

Eligibility criteria for Aeronautical Engineers

To be eligible for an Aeronautical Engineer job, the candidate must have the –

  • Graduation in aerospace or aeronautical engineering or any engineering-related discipline like Engineering physics or Mechanical engineering is needed.
  • A Master’s degree or a Doctorate in any engineering discipline which is related is needed.
  • A Professional Engineering license needed by the Provincial or Territorial association is needed to get approval for engineering drawings and to practice as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
  • Engineers are considered eligible for registration following Graduation from a recognized educational program and 3-4 years of monitored work experience in the field of engineering and provide professional practice examination.
