The Saskatchewan province is now aiming at overseas workers with specific work experience and offering them invitations for Canada PR. This is through a Provincial Nomination.
The draws were held through immigration sub-categories Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry of Saskatchewan. 202 candidates with work experience in 7 occupations were offered ITAs for Canada PR. The draws were held on May 1 and April 17, quotes the CIC News.
NOC refers to the code of the professions under the National Occupational Classification of Canada:
NOC | Occupation Title |
6332 | Bakers |
6331 | Butchers |
4215 | Instructors of Persons with Disabilities |
4151 | Psychologists |
3216 | Medical Sonographers |
1226 | Conference and Event Planners |
0423 | Managers in Social, Community and Correctional Services |
All the 7 occupations were on the In-demand Occupations List of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. Work experience in an occupation on the list is among the criteria for both the In-Demand Occupation and Express Entry sub-categories of SINP.
Nevertheless, the offer of a job is not needed. SINP removed NOC 1226 - Conference and Event Planners from the list. This is the third revision of the In-demand Occupations List by SINP after April.
The draw held on 1 May was the second one to aim at overseas workers with specific work experience in occupations on the list. The earlier draw held on 17 April also invited candidates in In-Demand Occupation and Express Entry subordinate-categories. This was in 4 occupations and they were eliminated from the list after the draw.
The sub-category Express Entry is allied with the Federal Express Entry system. It manages the immigration applicants through 3 economic streams. These are Skilled Worker Class Federal, Skilled Trades Class Federal, and Experience Class Canada.
Candidates are required to first create a profile and submit an EOI - Expression of Interest to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. This is to be considered for an ITA to apply for a nomination from the province through the Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry subordinate-categories.
The profiles of the candidates are assigned scores after assessment. This is based on diverse factors of their profile. It includes language ability, age, work experience, education level, and study, work, or family connections to Saskatchewan.
The profiles of highest scoring candidates are drawn from the pool of qualified EOI candidates through draws held regularly. They are then offered ITAs for Canada PR.
The lowest score of the candidates invited through Occupation In-Demand or Express Entry sub-categories on May 1 was 67.
