What is the job outlook for Italy?

According to a report released in 2015 by CEDEFOP, European Center for the Development of Vocational Training, which gives details of the Skills Forecast for Italy up to 2025, employment growth in Italy is expected to be in business services, administration services, followed by health and social care and professional services.

 

Based on this report the top jobs till 2025 will be available in the business service, public service, distribution and transport sectors.

 

The job outlook till 2025 says there will be demand for professionals in science, engineering, business, healthcare, and teaching. 22% of jobs are expected to be for high-level professionals in these fields. The job opportunities in Italy in the next few years up to 2025 will be a mixture of newly generated employment and the need to replace those who leave or move on to other employment due to retirement. Replacement demand is expected to provide nine times more job opportunities as compared with expansion demand.

 

Job outlook for Italy:

According to the CEDEFOP report, the employment outlook for Italy is expected to go up to 26 million by 2025.  Most of these job opportunities will be for high-level qualifications.

According to data released by Skills Panorama on the shortage occupations in Italy, the following occupations are likely to face a skills shortage till 2030.

  • ICT professionals
  • Marketing, creative and design professionals
  • STEM occupations
  • Teaching professionals

Orthodontists Salary Range: from 3,590 to 11,400 Euros
College Professors Salary Range: from 3,190 to 10,200 Euros
Pilots Salary Range: from 2,660 to 8,470 Euros
Marketing Directors Salary Range: from 2,390 to 7,620 Euros

Employment outlook:

According to the forecast by CEDEFOP, the sectors with the highest employment growth in Italy, will be security and office administrative sector. The occupations with the highest number of job openings will be business and administration associate professionals, teaching professionals, and building and related trades workers.

 

The forecast on CEDEFOP covers the period up to 2030. It took Global Economic Development into account until May 2019. For seven years in a row in 2019, the European economy had been in a continuous mode of expansion. With the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, short-term impact on the economy have been created, but long-term factors that will impact job outlook in European countries such as aging populations, increased use of automation / artificial intelligence, globalization, resource scarcity, etc. will continue to be influential.
