Free Education for children, healthcare & retirement benefits & visa free travel are some of the reasons people choose to immigrate.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

Manitoba is one of the Prairie Provinces of Canada. Three provinces – Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan – together form the Canadian Prairie Provinces.

Manitoba, taken from the Indian word for “the God who speaks”, is known for its more than 100,000 lakes.

In the north, Manitoba shares its borders with Nunavut. The US states of Minnesota and North Dakota lie towards the south of the province.

Ontario in the east and Saskatchewan to the west make up the other neighbours of Manitoba.

Winnipeg, the largest city in Manitoba, is the provincial capital.

The other prominent cities in Manitoba include – Brandon, Selkirk, Steinbach, The Pas, Thompson, Morden, Portage La Prairie, Winkler, and Dauphin.

Manitoba is a part of the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] of Canada. Manitoba nominates individuals – through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program [MPNP] – for their Canadian permanent residence. Manitoba PNP program offers Canada immigration pathways to recent graduates, businesspeople, skilled workers and their families that have the clear intention as well as the ability of settling down in Manitoba.

Manitoba PNP streams available
Skilled Workers in Manitoba [SWM]
SWM – Manitoba Experience Pathway
SWM – Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway
Skilled Workers Overseas [SWO]
SWO – Manitoba Express Entry Pathway
SWO – Human Capital Pathway
International Education Stream [IES]
IES – Career Employment Pathway
IES – Graduate Internship Pathway
IES – Student Entrepreneur Pilot
Business Investor Stream [BIS]
BIS – Entrepreneur Pathway
BIS – Farm Investor Pathway

The Skilled Workers Overseas – Manitoba Express Entry Pathway is linked with the federal Express Entry system of Canada. An Express Entry candidate that is successful in securing a provincial nomination – through any of the PNP-linked Express Entry streams – is automatically allotted 600 CRS points.

By ‘CRS’ here is implied the score, out of a maximum of 1,200, based on the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS]. As it is the highest-ranked Express Entry profiles that are issued invitations to apply in the federal draws that are held, a PNP nomination guarantees an invitation.

Locally driven, the Skilled Worker stream of the MPNP takes into account the specific needs and requirements of the Manitoba employers.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Canada immigration pathway nominates applicants with a strong connection – mainly in the form of an “ongoing Manitoba employment” – to the province.

The MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas pathway, on the other hand, is for applicants that are able to demonstrate “an established connection” to Manitoba.

The International Education category of the MPNP is for Manitoba graduates, that is, international students graduating from any higher education institution in the province. Manitoba graduates – meeting the requirements of the local industry in the province – get a faster pathway to a nomination through the MPNP for immigrating to Manitoba.

The International Education Stream [IES] of the MPNP has 3 separate pathways.

The Business Investor Stream [BIS] of the MPNP allows Manitoba province to recruit and nominate qualified entrepreneurs as well as business investors from across the globe that have the ability as well as the means of either purchasing an existing concern or starting a new business in Manitoba.
