University of New South Wales (B.Eng Programs)

The University of New South Wales, or UNSW Sydney, or UNSW, is a public research university located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. 

Established in 1949, it has international exchange and research partnerships with more than 200 universities globally.

The university comprises seven faculties; with the main campus being located in Kensington in an area spread over 94 acres. Its other campuses and facilities are in Canberra, Albury, Bankstown Airport, Botany, Coogee, Cowan, Coffs Harbour, Dee Why, Griffith, Manly Vale, Fowlers Gap, Port Macquarie, Randwick, and Wagga Wagga.

The university is home to more than 63,000 students. Though it imparts courses in 23 subjects, it is famous for accounting, civil & structural engineering, finance, law, and psychology. 

UNSW provides either a scholarship that covers the full tuition fee or an AUD 20,000 scholarship for tuition fees for the entire duration of the program. 

The university has six faculties, namely Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture, Faculty of Business, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law & Justice, Faculty of Medicine & Health, Faculty of Science, and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) at UNSW Canberra.

According to QS World University Rankings 2021, UNSW is ranked #44 and it ranks #67 on Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. 

The Campuses of UNSW

 UNSW has three major campuses, with one in Kensington, one in Paddington, and one in Canberra.

It houses a fitness and aquatic center for fitness buffs.

The UNSW Library is home to databases, digital collections, e-journals, study material, etc. Students are also allowed to book rooms in the library. 

It has various organizations for students for religious, recreational, and sports purposes on campus.

Housing Options At UNSW

The University of New South Wales provides students with housing options on campus as well as off-campus.

There are four residence halls and 11 residential colleges which include four apartment blocks, where foreign students are accommodated.

The residential blocks feature facilities such as common rooms, catering (if applicable), internet, laundry, parking, study rooms, etc.

The costs of some popular on-campus accommodations are as follows. It has residential halls, namely Barker Street, Basser College, Goldstein College, High Street, Philip Baxter, and University Terraces. They house two-bedroom apartments, one-bedroom, and single-room facilities

The University of New South Wales offers bursaries, grants, and scholarships for foreign students.

Scholarships offered for students of bachelor’s programs are the UNSW Business School Scholarship, where AUD 5,000 is awarded.
