The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) is a public university located in Sydney in the state of New South Wales Australia. Founded in its present form in 1988, in 2021, UTS admitted more than 45,200 students through its nine faculties and schools.
The campus consists of five distinct precincts in Broadway, Haymarket, Blackfriars, Moore Park, and Botany. Of the total enrolled students, more than 33,100 are undergraduate students, over 9,700 are postgraduate students, and more than 2,300 are doctorate students. UTS offers more than 500 courses at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels in research in various disciplines that include business, communication, education, engineering, and information technology (IT). It also offers certain programs, such as Bachelor of Business and Master of Engineering Management, offshore through Shanghai University, China for international students, and SHU-UTS Sydney Institute of Language and Commerce (SILC) Business School.

The campus of UTS is located in Sydney’s hub where many modern buildings exist, including Alumni Green, UTS Central, and UTS Library, among others. The university has more than 130 clubs and societies, including Athletics, African Society, Backstage, etc. related to different activities in academic, cultural, sports, etc.
Foreign students of the university can opt for any of the four residences close to the campus in addition to other student housing accommodations. All residences in UTS feature expansive public and BBQ areas, a rooftop garden, and study rooms that are self-sufficient and protected.
Students need to pay an application fee of AUD50, besides an acceptance fee of AUD130 to reserve housing facilities on campus. Rents off-campus rent begins from AUD6,500, not counting the added cost of AUD1,000 for other facilities. UTS provides a Residential Life program intending to assist students in coping with convenient amenities while they are away from home.
