Monash University MBA

Monash University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a two-year program with four core components, including an applied consulting project. The four modules are the foundation, globalization innovation, and transformation, and each account for 24 of the total 96 points MBA course. 

Foreign applicants wanting to pursue an MBA program at Monash University must have a bachelor’s degree, three years of work experience, one year at managerial rank, and proficiency in the English language. Eligibility & Admission Criteria
Academic Qualifications:
  • Applicants need to have completed a bachelor’s degree of Australia or an equivalent.
  • Applicants are needed to appear for an interview (telephone) with one member of the selection panel.
Work Experience:
  • At least three years of work experience with a minimum of one year of managerial experience.
Language Requirements:
  • The students who hail from a country where the native language is not English need to submit their proficiency in the English language.
Eligibility for Indian Students:
  • The student must be a graduate from a senior secondary school or equivalent (those who apply for a postgraduate program need to have graduated from a university/college).
  • Students with a diploma from a recognized institution with 65% in the final semesters of the program.

  • TOEFL average score: 79/120 
  • IELTS average score: 5 / 9
  • PTE average score: 58 / 90
  • GMAT average score: 650 / 800

Prerequisite Documents

The required documents are:

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate – The education board provides a certificate after the higher secondary education completion.
  • Marks Statement – From the education board.
  • Financial Documentation – Evidence demonstrating the student’s financial background.
  • Letter of Recommendation – A recommendation letter for the student to study.
  • Statement of Purpose – A written statement from the student describing why she/he wants to study.
  • Resume/CV – A document summarizing your experience and skills.

Visa & Work-Study Visa
  • The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) issues visas to enter Australia.
  • Students who intend to study a registered course need to secure a student visa.
  • This visa allows the student to :
    • Undertake a qualified study program in Australia
    • Travel within and outside of Australia
    • Work up to 40 hours every two weeks once the course starts
  • A temporary visa is issued to study for a maximum of five years. The course type and its length will determine the duration.
  • Primary school children registered in years 1-4 can only be issued a student visa for up to two years. 
  • If the visa of a student expires before graduation, the student could be eligible for a Visitor visa (subclass 600). The student will require a letter from the educational institution with the graduation date.
  • The cost of the visa is AUD620 for the main applicant unless they are waived.
  • The time taken to process a visa application can take longer if the student :
    • Do not fill it out correctly.
    • Does not include the relevant documents that require additional information.
  • Time is taken to verify the information.
  • The eligibility criteria to apply for a visa is:
    • Age – fewer than 20 years when you commence Year 12.
    • Proof of enrolment
    • The student should have taken the language test in English for two years before applying for a visa.
    • Evidence of English language exemptions:
    • The student is an applicant who is sponsored by a Foreign Affairs or Defence student or a Secondary Exchange student (AASES)
    • Two years before applying for the student visa completed by the student in Australia and in the language of English, either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a considerable component of a course makes way for a qualification from the Qualifications Framework of Australia at the Certificate IV or higher level, while holding a student visa.

Work-Study

  • Employers favor students who can balance study and work duties as it demonstrates nice time-management skills and an inclination to work. 
  • The student should not work more than 15 hours a week during the semester if she/he is a full-time student. Otherwise, it could affect the studies.
  • All students of this university can access Career Gateway, which is an online job search facility within the premises of the university. 
  • A visa student can work up to 40 hours per week.
