The Technical University of Munich, Technische Universität München in German, or TU Munich, is a public university in Munich, Germany. The university offers specializations disciplines such as applied and natural sciences, engineering, medicine, and technology.
Founded in 1868, the university now has campuses in Munich (main campus), Freising, Garching, Heilbronn, Straubing, and Singapore. The university is divided into eight schools and departments and 13 research centers. It houses more than 50,400 students who are offered more than 180 programs at all levels.

Most of the courses at TU Munich have English as the medium of instruction. As TUM does not charge tuition fees from its students, they have to pay semester fees which are inclusive of the Student Union Fee and Semester ticket.
About half of the students are foreign nationals. There are two admissions intakes at TU Munich – one in Winter and the other in Summer. Admission is offered to students who have academic scores of at least 75% and have reasonable proficiency in English and German languages.

TU Munich does not provide on-campus accommodation but assists students in finding reasonably priced housing. Housing costs range from €500 to €270, depending on the facilities the students seek.
