The Humboldt University of Berlin, with the official name of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, also referred to as HU Berlin, is a public university located in the Mitte borough of Berlin, Germany. Established in 1810, it is one of the oldest German universities. The university has nine faculties and two independent institutes.
The Humboldt University of Berlin invites applications from students in two intake periods- winter semester and summer semester. The university has enrolled more than 36,200 students, out of which more than 6,200 students are foreign nationals.

The university is divided into nine faculties. The university offers programs in 189 disciplines at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.
Though the Humboldt University of Berlin offers all its undergraduate programs in German, it offers some PG programs in both English and German. Aspiring foreign students need to submit academic transcripts and the scores of standardized exams, such as the GRE or GMAT.

The students are required to apply through the application portal Uni-Assist to gain admission to the university.

Students need to apply for a German Student visa or student applicant visa (Studienbewerbervisum) as soon as they get an admission offer. They only need to present the confirmation email they receive after finishing their online application form along with the printout of the study information where they explain the reason they chose to apply to the HUL.
The documents that need to be required by students while they apply for visas are as follows.
Applicants, who have not yet received the Letter of Admission, need to apply for visas by presenting the document confirming that the university authorities have received their application forms.
