Welcome to the ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, which was established as the Federal Polytechnic School in 1855. One of the top technical and scientific universities in the world, it has members from more than 100 nations. It offers students a stimulating, multicultural environment. Those who study here will have the opportunity to cooperate with eminent researchers and focus on the latest knowledge in their domain, and apply it hands-on.
Located amidst the Alps, ETH Zurich houses the latest infrastructures for research, instruction, and relaxation. Guests and visitors are welcome here at any time. It has dynamic squares and streets surrounded by cafés, restaurants, shops, gardens, and wide green spaces.
ETH Zurich houses a modern main campus constructed on the outskirts of Zurich, thanks to its generous sponsors. Though students here have an intensive curriculum, they are encouraged to attend concerts, conferences, and exhibitions regularly so that they get a feel of the real world. This is in addition to the various academic seminars that the campus of ETH Zurich holds to allow its students to meet with Europe's top academics and scientists.
ETH Zurich has two campuses – the main one is the Zentrum campus and the other is the Hönggerberg campus.
Its success is owed to renowned Swiss backgrounds of appreciating freedom's basic principles, entrepreneurial attitude, individual obligation, and progressive approach to education.
Known as the pioneer of research in Europe, it attempts to offer hands-on solutions using global challenges that can be dealt with.
