The Department of Engineering Science is the academic department where engineering is taught and imparted at the University of Oxford. Established in 1908, the department houses five research institutes in Oxford-Man Institute for Quantitative Finance, Oxford e-Research Centre, Oxford Thermofluids Institute, Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and Oxford Robotics Institute.
