Durham University, officially the University of Durham, is a public university located in Durham, England.

Founded in 1832 and integrated in 1837 by royal charter, it is considered the third-oldest English university, next only to Oxford and Cambridge. Its main activities are managed by its 26 academic departments of the university and 17 colleges.

Durham University is spread over an area of 563 acres, which also includes a portion of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one ancient monument, five buildings that are listed grade-one, and 68 grade-two listed buildings. The campus is at two separate locations – one in Durham City and the other in Queen’s Campus in Stockton, located about 28 km from Durham city.

Scholarships at Durham University

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships

  • These are granted to the students belonging to those from developing countries.
  • For postgraduate students, it is a need-based scholarship.
  • It will be granted 100% on tuition fees in addition to a monthly stipend of £1,110.

Vice Chancellor’s India Scholarship
