The Georgia Institute of Technology, known also as Georgia Tech, is a public university and institute of technology located in Atlanta, Georgia. Belonging to the University System of Georgia, the university has satellite campuses in Savannah, Georgia; Metz, France; Singapore, and Shenzhen, China.
Founded in 1885 as the Georgia School of Technology, Georgia Tech’s undergraduate and graduate programs are comprised of six colleges of College of Computing, College of Design, College of Engineering, Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, College of Sciences, and Scheller College of Business. To gain admission to Georgia Tech, students must provide official transcripts with a GPA of at least 3.0, which is equivalent to 85%, for UG programs, a GPA of at least 2.7, which is equivalent to 82%, is required for PG programs. Moreover, foreign students need to get TOEFL iBT scores of 69 and 90 for PG and UG courses, respectively, to show proficiency in the English language.
Georgia Tech’s campus is diverse where enrolled are more than 39,000 students enrolled in its six colleges and 28 schools. Of the total student population, 7,000 are foreign nationals belonging to over 100 nationalities. At Georgia Tech, the average cost of attendance ranges from $29,426 to $36,978.

The most popular undergraduate programs in the business discipline include analytics, information system, management, production management, quantitative analysis, and supply chain management. Also popular is the graduate urban planning program that the Design school provides.
The institute also offers multidisciplinary degrees, such as computing human-computer interaction, computing and media, engineering and business, and international security.
Located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia Tech also has five satellite campuses in other locations.
The university hosts NCAA Division I athletic programs in the US, besides 43 sports campuses, 20 intramural sports, about 400 student organizations, and some time-honored campus traditions.
Close to 98% of first-year students and 45% of all undergraduates reside on the campus. All newcomers are assured of accommodation on campus, including gender-inclusive housing. All the accommodations are provided in 40 residence halls on campus. Georgia Tech offers various convenient and flexible meal plans which include more than 24 cuisines and dishes to cater to various palates.
Students need to be enrolled for nine credit hours in the spring as well as the fall semesters to qualify for on-campus housing. Charged during the housing application is an application fee of $80 which is non-refundable is charged. Students who are not eligible for on-campus accommodations are provided off-campus housing. It is also provided to those who prefer to live outside the campus.
In the university, accommodation and rates of meals cost around $6,900 per year and $5,300 per year, respectively. These payments cover expenses of internet access and all utilities.
Georgia Tech Housing and Residence Life partnered with College Pads to come up with a new off-campus housing market for students and community members of Georgia Tech. Offcampus.housing.gatech.edu’s is the platform of College Pads that aims to provide a window for students of Georgia Tech who are on the lookout for off-campus accommodation.

Georgia Tech offers financial assistance to students by way of aid, awards, disbursements, grants, loans, and scholarships. Foreign students are allowed to apply for privately-funded scholarships and student loans which require a cosigner belonging to the US. Students who hold an F-1 visa are qualified to work part-time on-campus for a maximum of 20 hours per week during semesters or full-time during breaks.

Federal Work-Study (FWS) provides part-time work for students who are not financially stable, letting them earn money so that they can pay for their education. The program encourages community service and jobs related to the field of study of students. FWS is granted to Georgia Tech’s undergraduate students who have registered a minimum of half-time and are financially unsound. Grants of FWS range from $600 to $1,500 per semester. Students may work on- campus or outside of it, or in community services.
Career Center of Georgia Tech provides career guidance programs for all students by the way of career support, mock tests, and workshops.
