Isenberg School of Management (UMASS)

The Isenberg School of Management is the business school at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, or UMASS, located in Amherst, Massachusetts, United States.

Apart from MS, MBA, and PhD programs, the school offers seven majors in undergraduate courses. It has around 4,800 students, of whom 3,400 are pursuing undergraduate and 1,400 postgraduate courses. Students of Isenberg have large access to campus resources, with more than 30 student organizations within the school and more spread over the campus.

Isenberg offers full-time, online, and part-time programs for its MBA degree which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, (AACSB). The MBA is a two-year full-time residency program at the UMass Amherst main campus.

For the students who are selected at Isenberg for MBA, the school awards them a two-year MBA Fellowship that would fund their degree fully. The fellowship includes full tuition fees, a yearly stipend, and health insurance.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Students must have passed a four-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • They should get a GPA of at least 3.2 out of 4.0.
  • Students have more than three years of professional work experience.
  • They need to show their proficiency in the English language by showing their scores in IELTS or TOEFL.
  • Students should also submit their scores in GMAT or GRE

 Study Visa
  • Students need to have either F1 or J1 visas to qualify for full-time programs in Isenberg
  • Since applying for a student visa takes a lot of time, students are advised to prepare well in advance.
  • After the university receives the essential documents and students pay the enrollment fee, it will issue the I-20 form to students.
  • The students must carry this form with them when they apply to the US Embassy or Consulate for a visa.
Work Study
  • Graduate students who are in dire financial need as ascertained by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) could qualify for hourly employment under Federal Work-Study. It is not possible to fund Assistantship positions with Federal Work-Study.
  • Pre-approval of the Graduate Assistantship Office is necessary before a student can begin employment at an hourly graduate work-study position.
  • The student should have completed a Summer Aid Application to be eligible to request the summer session work-study funds. 
  • Applicants should contact Financial Aid Services to be considered for work-study funds during fall or spring.
