Students who have had English as their medium of instruction in their primary and secondary schools and also those who have resided in the United States for a minimum of four years and are degree holders from a recognized American university.

The students can opt for either F1 Visa or J1 Visa.
Applicants holding other non-immigrant visas will not be able to enroll in a study program at MIT.
Any student is allowed to apply for an on-campus job. The minimum wage of students is $12.75 per hour and most students earn more than $1,500 a semester.
International students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours a week due to student visa rules.
According to federal regulations, students taking part in a federal work-study program are not allowed to miss classes to carry out their federal work-study functions.
