How to apply for a Luxembourg Work Visa or Permit?

The step-by-step procedure for applying for a work visa for Luxembourg is given below:

Step 1: Obtain a Job offer from an employer in Luxembourg

You must first obtain a valid job offer from a registered employer in Luxembourg.

Step 2: Employers must complete the ADEM Registration

The Luxembourg-based employer offering you the job must register the job vacancy at the ADEM (Agence pour le développement de l'emploi). The ADEM then conducts a Labour Market test to ensure no local candidate is available to fill the vacant position.

Step 3: Apply for a valid work permit

Once the job offer is finalized, the employer applies for authorization to stay. Upon approval, the candidate can stay in Luxembourg for up to 90 days.

Step 4: Option for applying for EU Blue Card [Optional]

Employer in Luxembourg can also apply for an EU Blue Card on your behalf via the Department of Immigration. Highly qualified non-EU citizens who fulfill the EU Blue Card requirements with a valid employment contract can also opt for the EU Blue Card option.

Step 5: Arrange the visa requirements.

Candidates must fulfill the below list of requirements before applying for a work visa in Luxembourg:
