Types of South Korea work visa

There are three types of work visas in South Korea:

 

Business Visa

  • D-7 Intra Company Transfer Visa

This visa is issued to employees if they are transfered to South Korea. Those employees who work at an MNC and are now being transferred to a company in South Korea will be issued a D-7 Intra Company Transfer Visa. D-7-2 will be issued to an employee who is working in a South Korean company in a foreign branch and is now transferred to a domestic branch.

D-8 Business Investment Visa is issued to individuals who plan to set up or invest in a business in South Korea.

 

  • C-3-4 Business Visitor Visa

C-3-4 Business Visitor Visa is issued to those individuals who plan to take part in meetings and negotiations, market research, or conduct meetings. This visa is issued for a short visit.

 

Professional Visa

  • C-4 Short-Term Employee Visa

Individuals who are willing to work in South Korea for 90 days or less than that are allowed to apply for this visa, despite of the employment visa type for which they are applying.

 

  • D-10-1 Job Seeker Visa

Individuals who wish to find a job in South Korea can apply for D-10-1 Job Seeker Visa

 

  • E-1 Professor Visa

Foreigners who want to give lectures at a higher education level or conduct research in South Korea are issued E-1 Professor Visa. This visa is valid for one year with a multiple entry option. This visa can be extended.

 

  • E-2 Foreign Language Instructor Visa

E-2 Foreign Language Instructor Visa is issued to individuals who will teach foreign language at Schools or organizations. This visa is valid for one year with a multiple entry option. This visa can be renewed after two years.

 

  • E-3 Researcher Visa

Individuals who wish to undertake research in the field of advanced technology or natural sciences are issued E-3 Researcher Visa. This visa is issued to individuals only if they are invited by an institution in South Korea. This visa can be extended for one year at a time.

 

  • Technical Instructor or Technician Visa

Individuals who are experts in the field of science and technology and will impart their scientific/technical knowledge in South Korea will be issued this visa. This visa is issued if you are invited by an institution in South Korea. This visa has both single and multiple entry option and also can be extended when required.

 

  • E-5 Professional Visa

Foreign individuals who wish to practice law, accounting, medicine, and other professional activities in South Korea will be issued E-5 Professional Visa. Applicants must be internationally licensed and have national certificate under the laws of the Republic of Korea.

 

Non-Professional Visa

Non-Professional visas are issued to those individuals who enter South Korea to work in the following sectors:

 

  • E-9-1 Manufacturing
