The Australian Federal government has increased the fees for permanent and temporary resident visas, effective from July 1, 2021.
Recently, it declared the hike in the citizenship application fee, from $285 to $490.
Significant Investor stream Visa fee
The Business Innovation and Investment, which is popularly known as the Significant Investor stream, has also increased the visa fees to a higher price. It showed a steep rise from $7,880 (2020-21) to $8,925 (2021-22). Nearly it showed a hike of 13.2 percent.
Rise in Visa Application Charge
The Department of Home Affairs in the Australian Federal government has announced that Visa Application Charge (VAC) increase and taxation charge will be set according to the policy objectives.
The Australian government states that “the CPI (Consumer Price Index) adjustment consistent with the 2020-21 Budget, VACs for most Business Innovation and Investment Program visas were also increased by 11.3 percent on 1 July.”
Nominal fee hike in the other categories
There is a nominal fee hike in the other categories. The below list has registered a slight increase of 1.7%, that is from $4,045 to $ 4,115.
Rise in Parent visa fee
Whereas for Subclass 143 (Contributory Parent visa), the initial charge for the visa has increased from $4,155 to $4,255 in the current financial year. Summing up, the total cost has gone up to $48,000 for Parent visa applicants.
Partner or spouse visa fee
The individuals applying for the partner or spouse visa from onshore and offshore have to pay $135 extra compared to the past financial year.
Rise in AAT Fee
The AAT (Administrative Appeals Tribunal) fee (for visa related matters) is also increased from $1,800 to $3,000.
