The US Embassy in Delhi processed over 1,000 visa applications on Saturday. The US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti assisted in the process and also focused on the importance of strengthening US-India connections and simplifying the visa procedures.
Ambassador Garcetti said, “We’re doing everything we can to simplify the visa process and support people who are in critical situations. The US mission in India has increased staffing and applied technological innovations to meet the demand of visas. The relationships that individuals create when they work, study, and travel in the United States makes the US-India partnership strong.”

The US Embassy in Mumbai organised a “Super Saturday” drive on 9th March and processed 1500+ visa applications. The visa applications included first-time visitors, parents visiting their children, students, tourists, and businessmen. Previously, because of the increase in demand, the wait time had increased to 1000 days. However, the increase manpower and resources have significantly reduced the waiting period.
