The Beedie School of Business, or as it is popularly known as Beedie, is a business school at the SFU or Simon Fraser University with many campuses in the Lower Mainland in British Columbia, Canada. The EMBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership at Beedie, SFU, is offered under the EMBA study program. It is the only MBA program in North America accredited that addresses business, entrepreneurship, and economic development of Indigenous people.
It has been designed especially for mid-career professionals from indigenous sections in Canada. The applicants are established leaders who have an interest in the economic development, business management, self-determination, and nation-building for the indigenous people.
The program includes the knowledge and core concepts of most MBA programs. It also recognizes and respects the history, traditional knowledge, and cultural protocols of the indigenous people. It plays an essential role while making decisions in Indigenous communities. The students have to travel to Vancouver and attend intensive sessions for one to two weeks.
