Yes, you can convert a Youth Mobility Scheme visa to a Skilled Worker visa (Tier 2 visa), as it is the most common pathway to switch after a Youth Mobility Scheme visa. The Youth Mobility Scheme visa allows young nationals aged (18-30 years) to work and reside in the UK for 2 years. Once an applicant gains work experience with this visa, they can apply for a skilled worker visa to work and live in the country for five years. After residing in the country continuously for five years they can apply for an ILR (Indefinite Leave to remain).
The Skilled worker visa allows foreign nationals to work in the country for a UK licensed employer. It is a points-based visa, and the applicant must score at least 70 points to apply for this visa. The Skilled worker visa holder can also bring their dependant with them on a separate visa.
